Lauren’s sister and I have been best friends since high school. So of course when she reached out and asked me to do her maternity photos I couldn’t say no! Her and & Jay are the cutest and I am so excited for them to be welcoming their first baby into their family this June! This location as not at all what Lauren & Jay had envisioned or planned for their first maternity session. The local arboretum was high on their list of gorgeous places to shoot at. However, life had other plans for us. The virus hit and we started with a social distancing order. We knew it wouldn’t last as other states and countries restrictions were changing so fast and that soon we would be like most “shelter in place”. Lauren and I chatted about the fear, stress and anxiety of what this virus means for families who are pregnant and delivering this time. Rescheduling of showers, he concern of contracting something at the hospital where you are delivering and even moreso… the acknowledgement that there is a very real chance you may be in the deliver room without the father. I cannot even imagine how heartbreaking this must be for these pregnant families out there. I am so unbelievably grateful that I was at least able to give Lauren and Jay this. To capture their love for each other and their baby. I am grateful that I am able to give them a least one thing to be grateful for during this time before our stay at home order went into effect. Forgive my slowness at sharing these gorgeous lovebirds. Life is overwhelming so many of us right now.
To Lauren and Jay – I hope you love and cherish them as much as I do. I appreciate your understanding and patience during this time and I cannot wait until this is over and I am able to meet that sweet bundle of Joy!!! <3 <3
